School team presents ideas for less meat consumption at Federal Ministry
February 12, 2019
About a week after our award ceremony at the Federal Minstry for Economic Affairs and Energy, another team of the YES! 2018 was invited to Berlin.
For the YES! 2018, the team of the Elsa-Brandström-Gymnasium Oberhausen developed a concept for a sustainable reduction of meat consumption while increasing the share of organically produced meat compared to conventional production methods. They called it NTS, Nudges, taxes and subsidies. It combines tax incetives for produces along with an improved awareness of the consumers.

The team was invited to present their idea during a workshop on sustainability at the Federal Ministry with high ranking participants from academia, politics and business. They were praised by the audience for their ideas and answered critical questions with a broad knowledge of the topics.
