Promoting Digitisation in Business (2018)

Digitisation is a central aspect of an increasingly fast-paced technological change. Digital technologies are therefore forming the basis for new business models more frequently, and the digitalisation of production and work processes is continually gaining momentum. The successful use of digital technologies in many industries is now considered to be crucial to stay competitive in the future on an international level. Overall, the success of digital transformation in the economy is considered to be vital in securing growth and prosperity. As an example, the digitalisation of production in Germany, also known as ‘Industry 4.0’, is seen as a great opportunity as the manufacturing industry continues to be important in Germany when compared with other industrial nations on an international level. However, digital technologies are already prominent even in the service sector and in agriculture, and it is important to keep up-to-date with the latest trends and accept the opportunities and challenges that come with further digitalisation (a keyword here is ‘platform economy’).

Alina-Sophie Koch, 17:

I participate in the YES! because in my opinion, our generation can change a lot, especially in economy. The digitisation is maybe one of the biggest challenges we have to handle today. We are the generation which has to develop further solutions to brace them in the society. My target is to be an active part of this process and therefore YES! is a good chance.

Paul, 17:

During leisure time, I lead a scouts group and do some sports. The topic „digitization in business“ interests me, because I always wanted to understand what happens behind the curtains in our economical world. I´m also someone who always tries to optimize certain processes, either in my private life, or my social environment. I´m sure we work well together as a team and I hope we reach our objectives.

Martin Mohl, 16

I participate in YES! because I believe that my generation is responsible for a successful digital future. In my opinion, we as “Digital Natives” are the best option for finding solutions about digitization. Furthermore, I see YES! as a great opportunity to power up our voices in front of successful people.
